A look back at how the first collaborative gallery was created in 2010, when sharing wedding photos was still an uphill battle.

In 2010, sharing wedding photos online was an uphill battle. Photographers delivered their images on DVD or USB drive, so couples had to copy the media by hand for their family and friends. Worse still, some guests had to pay again to get the photos they wanted.

This situation bothered me deeply. Couples had already invested in a professional photographer. Why make it even harder to access these precious memories?

There was another problem on top of that: guests took their own photos with their cameras, but those images ended up compressed on Facebook, in poor quality, and could no longer be printed properly. All these memories were scattered across different media and platforms.

Seeing this, I asked myself a question that would change everything:

Why not create a shared gallery where everyone could upload their photos in high resolution?

Summer 2010 marked the start of this venture. I spent my vacation developing a first version of the website, called My-Share.fr. The concept was simple but groundbreaking for the time: a single platform where the professional photographer and the guests could bring all their pictures together.

The big day arrived. I handed out cards to the guests with a QR code that led directly to the collaborative wedding gallery. The experience exceeded my expectations: the guests embraced the concept right away, the photos were shared naturally, and all the memories ended up in one place.

This first successful experience laid the foundations for what would later become MesGaleries.com. By solving a real problem faced by every event organizer, this innovation paved the way for a new way of sharing and preserving photographic memories.
