Features

The photographer blog, built into your website

Publish articles on your studio website, at the same address as your galleries. You get found on the topics your clients search for, and every article leads back to your work.

Your future clients type "wedding photographer in Vermont" or "what to wear for a family session" into a search engine. A blog gives you a page to offer them on each of these topics, published on your studio website, at the same address as your galleries. The visitor reads, looks at your photos, then fills in the contact form without leaving your site.

Write without fighting the tool

An article is built from blocks that you stack and move around: text, heading, quote, separator, images (single, grid or carousel), before/after comparison, YouTube or Vimeo video, Instagram post, button, and a Galleries block that shows the cover of one to three of your online galleries.

Images come from your website's media library, shared with the home page and your pages. Alt text, credit and crop point are filled in there once and for all.

Your text saves itself. An article that is already online stays visible as it is while you rework it as a draft, and the last ten versions can be restored. A review link lets a friend or a client read the draft without an account. You publish right away, or you schedule the date.

Bring over your existing articles

Already running a blog on WordPress or Squarespace? Export it from your old tool and drop the file into your account. Before importing, you check the articles you want to keep and you see what will not come through. Titles, dates, topics, SEO settings and photos are brought over. Articles arrive as drafts or, if you ask for it, published with their original date.

A redirect file is provided so that the old addresses lead to the new ones. The static pages of the old site are brought over too.

Designed for search engines

Each article has its own address, a title and a description for search engines that you adjust in the editor, a sharing image for social networks cropped on the point you choose, and structured data that presents it as an article signed by your studio.

Your website's sitemap includes your articles, and an RSS feed is available. Topics, up to eight per article, create topic pages and link articles together: related articles, previous and next, automatic table of contents from three headings.

While you write, an indicator points out what is missing: title and description length, word count, images without a description, article without a topic. The views of each published article appear in the editor.

A helping hand for writing

If you have a key from an artificial intelligence provider (Mistral, Gemini, OpenAI or Anthropic), you save it in your settings. A button then appears on the title, the excerpt and each text block: you pick a writing style, add an instruction, and a rewrite is proposed next to your text. Nothing is replaced without your consent.

mesgaleries.com charges nothing for this feature, available from the Free plan: it is your key, so your account with the provider, and some providers offer free usage as long as it stays reasonable. The steps are in the article Connecting an AI to Your Galleries to Write Your Texts.

Connected to your galleries and your website

As soon as the first article is published, a Blog entry appears in your website menu and the News section of the home page shows your latest articles. The Galleries block of an article leads to your online galleries; a gallery that goes back offline disappears from the article on its own.

The blog lives on your mesgaleries.com subdomain or, from the Gold plan, on your own domain name. The "Stay in touch" section of your website collects your readers' addresses: these subscribers remain your contacts and can be exported as CSV.

The blog is part of the photographer website. To see how mesgaleries.com compares with other platforms, read our comparisons. The article Creating Your Website on mesgaleries.com walks you through the setup step by step.

Frequently asked questions

Is the blog included in the Free plan?

No. The blog is part of the showcase website and is included from the Gold plan, at 28 € per month or 280 € per year. If you later move to a plan without a blog, your articles are not deleted: they reappear when you return to the matching plan.

Can my blog be published on my own domain name?

Yes, from the Gold plan. Otherwise it lives on your subdomain, in the form your-studio.mesgaleries.com/blog, at the same address as your website and your galleries.

Can I import the articles of my old blog?

Yes, from WordPress and Squarespace, using the export file of your old tool. Import from Wix is not available yet. A documented exchange format lets a webmaster prepare a file from any other site.

How many articles can I publish?

There is no limit on the number of articles. Each article accepts up to sixty blocks. Photos count toward the storage space of your plan.

Which language can I write in?

The language of your clients: the text is yours. A website exists in a single language only, so there is no translated version of the same article.

What happens to my images?

Each uploaded image (JPG, PNG or WebP, 40 MB at most) is resized into several sizes and served in a lightweight format suited to the browser. You fill in an alt text and a credit. The crop point you choose applies to the cover and to the sharing image.
