At mesgaleries.com, we take the protection of your personal data very seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it and how we protect it. By using our website, you accept the terms of this Privacy Policy.

2. Information Collected

We collect only the personal information needed to provide you with our services. Depending on how you use the platform, this includes the following:

  • Account data: last name, first name, email address, password (stored only in hashed form), language and, if you provide it, business information (company name, SIRET number, VAT number).
  • Order contact details: postal address and telephone number, only if you have placed an order with us.
  • Uploaded content: photographs, videos and documents that you upload to the platform.
  • Order and payment data: details and amounts of your orders and subscriptions. Payments are processed by our provider Stripe: you enter your card details directly with Stripe, and we neither receive nor store your card number.
  • Connection data: IP address, browser type, date and time of your logins and of your actions on the site (connection and activity logs).
  • Facial recognition data: when this feature is enabled on a gallery, the selfie you submit and the numerical face signatures (mathematical vectors) computed from that selfie and from the photos in the gallery. This processing is not entrusted to any external service provider.
  • Messages and emails: the messages you send us (contact form, help center) and your email address, used to send you service emails (account, orders, subscription, notifications) as well as guidance and reminder emails related to the use of your account. Every reminder email contains an unsubscribe link.
  • Browsing data: pages viewed and interactions with the site, under the conditions described in section 4.

3. Use of Information

We use your personal information only for the following purposes:

  • Contacting you about your account or your orders
  • Answering your questions and concerns
  • Informing you of updates to our services
  • Informing you of promotional offers
  • Providing you with the services and features you request

4. Cookies and Advertising

Our website uses the following cookies. None of them is used for advertising.

Cookies required for the site to work:

  • MY_SHARE: session cookie set as soon as you arrive on the site. It keeps you logged in and preserves your cart and your access to protected galleries. Duration: 5 days, extended on each visit.
  • mg_locale: remembers the language you have chosen. Duration: 1 year.
  • MS_SSO_TRIED: set only on the site of a photographer who uses their own domain name. It avoids repeating the login check on every page. Duration: 4 hours.
  • Stripe cookies: on payment pages, our payment provider Stripe may set its own cookies, intended to secure the payment and prevent fraud.

Sign-up origin cookie: when you view a gallery without being logged in, an MS_VISITOR cookie containing a random identifier may be set. If you later create an account, it lets us know through which gallery you discovered the platform. Duration: 30 days.

Audience measurement: we use the PostHog tool, whose data is hosted in the European Union, to measure traffic on the site and understand how it is used: pages viewed, clicks, display performance and, where applicable, a recording of how the visit unfolds, in which the content of input fields is masked. For this purpose, PostHog sets a cookie on the mesgaleries.com domain, shared by the public site, the application and the galleries, as soon as you arrive on the site. When you are logged in to your account, these measurements are associated with your identifier, your name, your email address and your plan. You can refuse this cookie through your browser settings and object to this measurement by writing to us at hello[@]mesgaleries.com.

We do not display any advertising and do not share your personal information for advertising purposes.

5. Sharing of Information

We do not share your personal information with third parties, except with the service providers involved in delivering our services, solely for the purposes of their task:

  • Stripe: processing of payments for orders and subscriptions.
  • Brevo: sending of information and reminder emails and newsletters.
  • Microsoft 365: sending of emails related to your account and your orders.
  • PostHog: audience measurement described in section 4.
  • Negatif+: partner laboratory that produces and ships the prints ordered; it receives the photographs to be printed and the delivery details.
  • IONOS: hosting of the site.
  • Artificial intelligence providers (Mistral AI, OpenAI, Anthropic or Google): only if you connect your own AI key in your account; the content you submit to the writing assistant is then sent to the provider you have chosen.

Your information may also be disclosed with your consent, or to comply with the law.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against any unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration or destruction.

7. Data Retention

We keep your personal information for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
