New on mesgaleries.com: sell your digital files in bundles. Volume tiers applied automatically in the cart, or a single pack per gallery for school and sports photography.
Why sell in bundles?
A parent browsing the school fair photos does not buy one picture, they want ten. A runner who appears in fifteen shots of a trail race would gladly take the lot if the price followed. Until now, on mesgaleries.com, a digital photo had one price, the same from the first to the fiftieth. Several photographers asked us for the same thing, each in their own words: "I'd like to offer 10 photos for €15", "my school wants a single pack", "beyond 30 photos I want it to become really attractive".
It is now live. Digital photo packs let you sell your files in bundles, in two ways, and the price works itself out in your client's cart. The feature is available from the Standard plan.
Two formulas, depending on how you sell
Volume tiers
You set thresholds, for example 10 photos for €15 and 50 photos for €30. Your client adds photos freely, one by one, as today. As soon as a tier is reached, the cart switches to the pack price, and a message nudges them further: "3 more photos to get them for €15". No voucher to enter, no rule to explain, the price simply follows the selection. You can define up to five tiers.
The locked pack
This is the formula for class photos, sports clubs and high-volume events. The gallery sells a single product: ten photos for €50, for instance. The client picks their ten photos and pays for the pack. If they only want seven, they still pay for the pack, and a counter reminds them that three remain to be chosen. Beyond ten, adding is refused. On that gallery, paper prints and single purchases disappear: one offer, readable at a glance.
Set up your packs in a few minutes
Everything happens in your settings, Shop and pricing section, right below the price of your digital photo. Choose "Volume tiers" or "Locked pack", add your tiers with the number of photos and the price, and it is saved. A preview shows, for each tier, what the client pays, the price per photo, the platform commission and what you receive.
Between two tiers, you decide the rule. Either the volume price: the per-photo price of the reached tier applies to every photo, so 12 photos with "10 = €15" cost 12 × €1.50 = €18. Or the pack plus units: the pack, then the additional photos at the unit price, that is €15 + 2 × €2 = €19 in the same example. The example shown in your settings is recalculated with your own figures.
This setting applies to all your galleries. Each gallery can then do otherwise: keep the account setting, go without packs, or define its own tiers or its own locked pack, in its settings, Sales section. A wedding gallery and a tournament gallery do not follow the same pricing logic, and that is by design.
What your client sees
The price grid appears in the purchase window, next to the choice of material. In the cart, a banner tracks progress towards the next tier and shows the saving compared with the unit price. For a locked pack, the "3/10 photos" counter stays visible from the first addition to checkout.
The rest does not change: secure payment, immediate download of high-definition files after payment, receipt and confirmation email. The platform commission is taken on the pack price, at your plan's rate, exactly as for a photo sold individually, and your payout follows the usual circuit.
Three tips before setting your tiers
- Start from your unit price. It remains the first tier, the one paid by clients who buy a single photo. A pack must be a genuinely good deal compared with it, otherwise nobody notices. The settings refuse a pack that is more expensive than the same photos at unit price.
- Mind the threshold effect. With "10 = €15" and "50 = €30", 49 photos cost €73.50 at the volume price and 50 photos cost €30. Sometimes that is exactly what you want, to push towards the full pack. The preview points it out, the call is yours.
- For schools and clubs, lock it. One pack, one price, no prints: parents understand in a second and you have nothing to explain on distribution day.
The detailed rules and special cases are in the documentation, available from your account. And if the way you sell fits neither formula, write to us: that is how this one came about.
